Guess what happen just now?

We were suppose to have our last bioD practical today at 2 o'clock. Upon reaching the lab, i realised that people are walking past the lab instead of going in...

Not having a clue of what happen, i followed the crowd until we reached the car park below. Walking past the stairs, i smelled something. Only then i realised what was wrong.

The lab on the first floor was on fire.

No, we can't exactly see the fire, but there was smoke coming out. And a crowd was gathering at the car park: Prof Benito, Prof Darren, all the TAs and the students.

Actually, it didn't feel like there was any danger at all. All of us were chatting and speculating. i even overheard a TA said it must be the work of someone who doesn't want to have prac today. Lol.

After 20 minutes, the firemen finally arrived. No, it's the SCDF (Singapore Civil Defence Force). Then everyone was looking at their bikes and started snapping photos using camera phones because they looked so cool, with all the heavy equipment and all that.

After another 20 minutes, when Prof finally announced that it was all clear and we can all moved back to the lab, there was a collective sigh of disappointment. No, the fire didn't burn down all the plant specimens.

It was all Bryophytes, Pteridophytes, Gymnosperms and Angiosperms later.

At the end of the quiz, to my surprise, our TA requested to take photo with us. Apparently, as this was our last practical, we were also his last tutor group since he'll be graduating next year.

Then he sort of 'lectured' us a bit. It felt like we were going to see each other for the last time. And i thought that was sweet of him to do that. =)
