Thank you very much for the donuts, the flowers, the balloons and most importantly, just for being there. It was indeed heart-warming for me that friends who have been and continue to be important in my past three years of life in NUS were present last night. As cliche as it may sound, it still feels like only yesterday that i have known you all.
It feels like Science Orientation Week was only yesterday. Especially when we can still vividly remember bits and pieces about it. The fright night episode, where we girls were so freaked out that our respective guy partners have to suffer in various ways like having their shirts being tugged, being wedged between doors because we ran away out of fright etc. Hendrick and the other seniors should be very proud that his OG has stayed together as an OG, throughout these three years.
It feels like it was only yesterday that i joined the tzu ching camp in year 2006, when it all began. i wouldn't be able to grow and learn so much if i wasn't given this position, despite severely lacking in leadership and having no experience at all. i wouldn't have the opportunities of speaking in front of so many people, on topics that i am passionate about, and doing what i love. And for this i am grateful.
It feels like it was only yesterday that i spotted the red slippers, became friends with the vivacious owner, and also her two fabulous friends. Four girls with four personalities and the Apple sisterhood was formed. The sisterhood was formed over late night chats at PGP playground, where we talked about our hopes and dreams in that starry-eye phase during first year, and then more chats on msn, over lunch and dinner sessions (we hardly eat breakfast together *ahem*). Wait i believe the sisterhood was formed in that first outing to Tiong Bahru Plaza..
It feels as if you're reading an interesting novel, a page-turner, and you can't wait to finish it to know the ending; but when it finally ended, you wish you could relish the details in the novel all over again. NUS has given me the opportunity to pursue both my favourite subjects, biology and english. But most importantly, it is here that i have weaved a lifetime of memorable times with friends and this is also the place i have met my special someone. =]
i joined a martial arts club, broke some sticks using qigong and gotten a blue belt for it; became a reporter for one day, gave a 'guest lecture' in a geography module class...all these aren't great achievements, but they have helped me grow and shaped me to be the person that i am now. Looking back, all the stress: assignments, projects, tests and CAs and the final exams has been worthwhile.
