As it was a public lecture, there were people from different age groups: lecturers, students and even 'school children' -in the Prof's words, though i suspect they might be JC students.
Nanotechnology is a relatively new, promising technology. However, there are already so much brouhaha over it. So it was refreshing to know that future nanotech might be more closely related to biology after all. Still, all those mentioning about biokleptics and biomimetics send my head spinning.
At some point during the lecture, there was a loud banging noise outside the LT which continued for half-a-minute. Prof Tony turned to his host and said, "You didn't tell me the Secret Service is coming!" It was hilarious.
There are so many things beyond books to learn, yet so little time (actually, i can hardly finish what's inside the book). Now i can feel that 24 hours a day is definitely not enough. But then again, i'm the one who should seriously work on my time management skills.

While studying together for our Biodiversity continual assessment, Susan and i read that the snail undergoes torsion to rotate the visceral mass and mantle. So i thought it was quite ingenious for a simple organism like the snail to undergo this until Susan said,
"What genius?! Twist the anal to be on top of the head and you called that 'genius'? That's like sh*tting on top of your head!" (The exact words cannot be reproduced but it was exclaimed in cantonese and at that time, it was damn hilarious.)

Biodiversity prac again today. It was actually quite fun looking at the different specimens of organisms in the various phylum, were it not for the impending CA that we're going to have at the end of the prac. And no, it wasn't wonderful at all.
