i've now officially reach another milestone in my life. i'm finally going into my dream university. i used to wish i can go someplace new, somewhere no one knows me. They say be careful of what you wish for, you might just get it. Now, it seems, ironically, i'm getting my wish.
Some three weeks from now, i'm going to a foreign land to start a new phase of life. i can't help but feel a little daunting and unnerving at the thought of leaving the comfort of home to some alien surrounding. i wonder if i'll make new friends that are as good as my old ones, i wonder if i'll fit in, i wonder if i can keep up, i wonder...too much.
Perhaps E is right. Since no one knows me there, i can even wear cheongsam everyday and no one would bother, 'coz they'll think that's how i am. Ha. i get to start all over again. i can be braver, stronger, and more assertive. 'There are no strangers, only friends you've never met.' Perhaps this is the right kind of mentality that i should have. Just like the song goes 'You gotta be strong, gotta be brave...'. And although tomorrow may seem uncertain, i should 'challenge what the future holds'!
i hope my new found optimism will last long. =)
To all my friends,
Saying goodbye is never easy. We're going our separate ways now. As to whether our paths will cross again, only God knows. Perhaps just like the message i received this morning "Life is just like a circle. We'll meet again someday, sometime, somewhere."
To date, the last two years have been the hardest in my life. But with you people, it was somewhat bearable. The moments i share with you will be forever embedded in my mind. i'll never forget how we were being punish to stand under the sun when we were in Lower 6, how we went through those nerve firing days preparing for the exam together, how we patted each other on the back and wished 'good luck's before going into the exam hall. And i don't think i can even forget some of the antics of the guys in our class. They had been a reliable source of providing the comic relief that were so needed.
People have told me that university is the most memorable period in one's life. You get to be a student for the one last time. There will be more of those memorable moments that you'll go through, only with a different bunch of friends. E said 'the one thing i learn is that we make new friends in different stages'. There will be new friends to make, new place to see, and new territory to explore.
So my friends, do take care and i wish only the best to all of you. Au revoir.
