Let's see. Two month plus into the job.

And i'm still mistaken for being one of the interns.

Besides that, my cupboard's getting full, filled with papers, proofs, manuscripts and CDs; i've learnt that even though the system goes step by step, but along every single step of the way, the Murphy's Law applies. If anything can go wrong, it freaking will.

There's always some last minute changes in the proofs, films, and even blueprints. Somehow along the way, a tiny little thing will just crop up. Either it's some last minute request by author, or some blatant mistake that was overlooked and only discovered at the very last stage.

After all these, i've come to learn to appreciate and respect books better. Because they certainly don't come easy.

Book A and Book M have been sent for printing today. Finally. After months of work, done by my predecessor; after endless corrections and amendments.

Papers for the September issue of my journal is still late. And it's late August already. And i sent chaser emails every few days. There's this chart in the office that keeps track on the timeliness of all 100 plus journals of the company. Beside every journal name, it will be the editor-in-charge's name, and in the third column, a little star will be given for the journal if it's on-time. i pass by the chart everyday on my way to the pantry, several times a day. And i wonder will there ever be a day when the little star will appear beside my name? Fat chance, from the looks of it.

Tomorrow is Friday. Yay!
