Yo! i'm back. Back from camp(s) and Sg. Back to home.

Been travelling back and forth from M'sia and Sg ( and KL). And so this is how i spent my holidays.

Tzu Ching camp:
A bit touching at times. i'm suddenly reminded of some of those good values that i used to hold dear. i guess when life gets a bit comfortable and easy, i've also taken things for granted. And sometimes, it's so easy to be ignorant and oblivious to the fact that there are many more unfortunate people out there, living in dismal conditions. It's good to be reminded. Next time when i wanna complain about life's unfairness, i shall think of them. *wink*

i went to 'clean the beach' for the first time, mainly just to pick up those garbage lying around in east coast park, for my group had been assigned to this task. The other tasks include house visiting. i've made new friends with other members in my group, all from nus, 4 first years, 1 fourth year and 2 third years. The funny thing is, except for two people, all of us stayed in PGP. And 4 of us are from M'sia. And oh, we also had a very cute Tzu Chi mama as sort of like our mentor.

NWP training camp:
First day was ok. Learnt Qi Gong for the first time. Maybe it was just me, i suddenly feel uneasy and start to feel dizzy during the course of breathing. Instructor said could be due to Qi 'clogged' in the body. Whatever that means. Coach gave a small lec on Qi Gong, which had most of us nearly dozed off. i never realise Coach can talk so much.

Sparring session was fun, though i felt kinda clumsy and the black-belt seem to know when i'm going to kick and thus always counter attacked my moves. But i had gloves on for the first time to box with. =) The seniors all have their chance of wearing the 'full armour'. Ha ha. Not only they looked funny, but they also moved slower. Any fanciful act cannot be executed because of the restraint from the protecting piece covering the front of the body.

During self-defense session, we learnt how to break fall and how to throw people. Unfortunately, before i've master completely how to break fall, i was thrown around by a black-belt like a rag doll. Not fun. My neck ached. And my skills sucks.

After dinner time, we went to one of the guys' room to play card games. And Eusoff Hall's rooms are so big. They have an L-shaped desk(!) and endless rows of cupboards. Even their cubicles in the toilet are bigger. Ish...i'm so jealous.

The next morning, PT. From Eusoff Hall, we ran to Kent Ridge road, PGP, Sci Fac, and back to Eusoff. Only thing is, me and another girl were so out of breath that we were left behind. i was the second to last ler. Ha ha. Ok, not funny, that means i need to work on my stamina. Jason, a black belt senior purposely ran slower and accompanied us. So while the rest of the group turn right to Kent Ridge Park at the junction in PGP; the 3 of us turned left to NUH. And i practically walked the rest of the way back to hall. So in the end not only were we slow, we had the short cut route too. =)

Afternoon was basic weapon training. We, fresh green belts get to play with swords! i've always wanted to learn that. We learnt a few basic moves of handling the sword and stuff. It was kinda fun until my wrist start to ache. i cannot imagine what the guys felt because they had to hold those wooden swords instead of the metal ones.
